Responsibilities

The Yu Lab is currently hiring for a Research Technician to assist with research activities directed toward understanding the roles of cellular metabolism in vascular development and disease. Basic duties will include working with laboratory mice, PCR genotyping, reagent preparation, ordering supplies, and general laboratory maintenance and organization. Additional responsibilities will include molecular and cellular biology and histology.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree typically in one of the biological sciences or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience.

 

Basic computer skills including Internet software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office software. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be organized, take direction, keep meticulous records, and meet all deadlines. Professionalism and acceptance of diverse personalities and cultures are required.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Interest in genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, or related fields. Previous experience with laboratory mice and PCR genotyping is a plus but not required.

Work Hours

Typically, Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
