Responsibilities

The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence is undergoing an exciting time of clinical and clinical research expansion through generous philanthropic support. We are recruiting two physician investigators with clinical research interests in investigator-initiated clinical trials, outcomes research, or other patient-oriented investigation to join our strong multi-disciplinary MS clinical care and research team. Building on strong clinical research infrastructure with longitudinal cohorts, a cadre of talented clinical coordinators/clinical research nurses, diverse aspects of clinical research informatics and a CAP-certified biorepository, we invite qualified candidates to apply for a clinical investigative position focusing on multiple sclerosis and related disorders. We are currently recruiting at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. Talented candidates at all levels are encouraged to apply and will be considered.

 

Successful applicants will:

 

  • Spearhead investigator-initiated, sponsor-led and/or NIH clinical trials
  • Provide comprehensive, optimal, science-driven multiple sclerosis patient care
  • Receive generous, multi-year start-up package with significant, sustained salary and research support
  • Collaborate with basic scientists interested in MS patient-oriented translational research
  • Interact closely with Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center faculty and participate in OUHSC house staff and medical training programs

    • extensive autoimmune disease and control bio-specimen collections
    • outstanding OMRF and ACI Clinical and Research Core facilities

 

Arthritis and Clinical Immunology investigators have access to a number of outstanding OMRF core facilities, including and state-of-the-art clinical facilities. Extensive autoimmune disease and control sample collections are also available. Pilot programs are also available through the Oklahoma Shared Clinical & Translational Resources funding streams, as well as through the Oklahoma Center for Advancement of Science and Technology. Our clinicians provide outpatient care with no in-patient admission or consulting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Successful candidates must have terminal degree training in Neurology (MD, DO, MD-PhD), be board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology, licensed to practice in the US (and able to obtain an Oklahoma license), have received additional training in caring for patients with Multiple Sclerosis, be in good clinical standing, and demonstrate a commitment and interest in launching a collaborative or independent clinical research program in MS. Must possess high level of initiative, strong attention to detail, and be team oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Clinical trial experience as a site-PI/co-Investigator ideally with interest in MS, some neuroimmunology exposure/training, experience writing protocols and co-authoring manuscripts. Candidates with a history of extramural funding (especially NIH), investigator initiated clinical trial experience, cohort experience, ability to secure independent extramural funding, and/or with first or senior author publications will be given preference.
