Responsibilities

The Scofield Lab is looking for a Summer Research Intern. This internship in the Arthritis & Clinical Immunology department will provide motivated students the opportunity to assist with research studies directed towards understanding the mechanisms of osteoarthritis. Duties may include performing a variety of cell culture and molecular biology techniques, extraction, analysis, and presentation of data.

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent organization skills. Must be team oriented, personable, and able to deal with diverse personalities. Must be able to take direction, follow instructions and keep meticulous records. Must be reliable and self-driven with a high attention to detail.

 

Basic computer skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Entry level position, however, individuals with previous technician experience will be considered if previous experience included molecular biology (such as:  DNA purification, restriction cloning, PCR, site-directed mutagenesis, and/or RNA handling).

Work Hours

Typically Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
