Among our many Research Centers, we have Centers of Excellence and specialized clinics focused on Rheumatic Diseases (including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, undifferentiated connective tissue disease, ANA+ healthy individuals, and Sjogren’s syndrome), as well as Multiple Sclerosis. In addition to managing the care of over 4,000 patients with rheumatic conditions, teams of basic and clinical investigators at OMRF conduct extensive clinical, translational, and mechanistic research using samples from these large clinical programs. We are also fortunate to hold multiple collaborative grants, including the UM1 NIAID-funded Autoimmunity Center of Excellence, two U01 Autoimmunity Prevention Centers, the NIGMS-funded S06 Native American Research Center of Health focused on rheumatic disease, the NIAMS-funded P30 Oklahoma Rheumatic Disease Research Cores Center, and the NIGMS-funded U54 Oklahoma Shared Clinical and Translational Resources. The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) Rheumatology Research Center of Excellence is looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient care to patients with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases. Some key responsibilities include:
• Provide clinical patient care under a physician's supervision, review medical records, perform physical exams, and document information in electronic medical/health records
• Assist with and/or perform disease-oriented clinical procedures • Assess, determine, plan, and implement patient care
• Participate in care before, during, and after clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with study protocols and adherence to timelines
• Conduct clinical evaluations to assess disease activity for clinical trials
• May obtain informed consent and participate in clinical trial training programs
• Educate patients, study participants, and other healthcare providers about illness, disease, and study process and protocol
• Maintain accurate, detailed records according to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations, and ensure safety protocols are followed
• Review medical records and extract data for research repository patients and participants
• Graduation from an accredited PA or NP program
• Active Oklahoma license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, free from restrictions (or an active license in another state with the ability to obtain an Oklahoma license)
• Team-oriented, professional, detail-oriented, flexible, and adaptable
• Excellent communication skills

Previous experience working with rheumatology and/or autoimmune disease patients is highly preferred.
Typically, Monday to Friday, 8:30AM to 5:00PM, though hours may vary slightly based on workload and patient or participant appointments. There is no in-patient weekend call, but on-call duties for outpatient care may be required.
