The Arthritis and Clinical Immunology Research Program is seeking a Billing Coordinator who will oversee billing-related processes, communication, and administrative tasks to ensure accurate and timely clinical financial operations. Some responsibility themes include revenue cycle management, client and patient customer support, clinical and laboratory administrative assistance, and other operational duties supporting clinical services. Examples of key responsibilities include:
• Collect and enter insurance information to prepare for the billing cycle
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance providers and Medicare
• Generate and send client and patient invoices
• Log payments from clients, insurance, and patients
• Process EOB letters and resubmit charges for payment
• Follow up on outstanding payments and manage rebilling efforts including mailing processed rebills to patients or insurance companies
• Interface with OMRF Accounting for payment reconciliation and reporting
• Fax results to clients
• Collect and deliver mail to/from the mailroom, check the mailbox for incoming items, and monitor the lab for mail or other items needing attention
• Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls and serve as patient and client service representative
• Assist with special projects or additional assignments as they arise
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Basic knowledge of medical coding systems, such as ICD-10 and CPT
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, accounting, or a related field
• Experience in medical billing, insurance claims processing, or related healthcare administrative roles.
• Advanced knowledge of medical coding
• Prior experience working in a clinical laboratory or research setting.
Typically, Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
