The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (https://omrf.org/) is seeking accomplished or upcoming investigators with expertise in aging as it relates to neuroinflammation and/or neurodegeneration to join the Aging and Metabolism Research Program. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain a vigorous independent research laboratory investigating mechanisms relevant to CNS aging associated with one or more of the following areas of special interest: inflammatory processes, circuits relevant to cognition/behavior, immune cell function, and bioenergetics. Successful candidates will receive an appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Member level (Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor equivalents), dedicated research space, as well as a generous, multi-year start-up package with significant sustained salary and research support.   The Aging and Metabolism Research Program is comprised of thirteen faculty members studying a variety of diseases related to the aging process, including neurological, metabolic, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular disorders.  OMRF supports an AAALAC accredited animal facility as well as state-of-the art core facilities for imaging, -omics technologies, tissue banking, and other facilitating resources. The Rankin Lab is seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow to study chromosome assembly and dynamics, how these events are controlled, and how corruption of these processes contributes to disease. Our lab forms part of the Program in Cell Cycle and Cancer Biology, which offers an excellent training environment in a state-of-the-art facility. We use a variety of experimental models, including cultured cells, biochemistry, extracts from frog eggs, and advanced microscopy to address problems of chromosome structure, replication, and inheritance. Experience directly related to this field is not necessary, but basic molecular biology skills are preferred. Applicants should demonstrate enthusiasm for the topic, willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently to develop their project(s), analyze experiments, and prepare manuscripts. Successful candidates will have good written and verbal communication skills and be willing to engage fully in lab and departmental activities. The Arthritis & Clinical Immunology Research Program is currently hiring for a Project Coordinator/Laboratory Business Administrator.   Oversee the business, purchasing, and accounting for large research groups. Coordinates and executes rheumatology research projects. Performs nursing duties in a rheumatology research clinic setting including research and data management, patient care, sample collection and processing, and medication administration. Liaises between principal investigator, patients, third party patient care service providers, research sponsors, and governing agencies to ensure strict adherence to protocol and regulations throughout study conduct. Excellent written and oral communications required. 4. Patient Care. Assesses and records symptoms, vital signs, and other patient information required for research protocols and to prepare patient for examination. Review records for documentation of study inclusion/exclusion criteria. Carries out physician orders for testing and treatment and coordinates follow-up care of patients. 5. Sample Collection. Collects samples from patients including blood, urine, saliva, etc. Prepares samples for analysis or shipment. Collects all laboratory reports, data, and records. Excellent phlebotomy skills required. 6. Medication Administration. Under direction of physician or other medical personnel, administers FDA approved and investigational medications to patients. IV certification preferred. 7. Data Management. Gathers, organizes, analyzes, and submits patient and research data to principal investigators, scientists, and sponsors. Computer skills required. 8. The Kinter laboratory in the Aging and Metabolism Research Program is seeking a Research Technician. The Kinter laboratory has two parts; a proteomics laboratory that helps other scientists use LC-MS in their experiments and an independent research program studying the effects of high fat diets on the heart.   The Research Technician will perform routine laboratory procedures according to our laboratory protocols, including but not limited to handling mice, maintaining cell cultures, isolating protein and RNA, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, and LC-mass spectrometry.  The Yoon Lab is looking for a highly motivated, creative, and responsible scientists who will play a key role in achieving the mission of the lab. We aim to discover cellular and molecular mechanisms of Mendelian mitochondrial diseases. To do this, we implement an experimental pipeline that leverages the combined power of clinical data, genomics analysis, and studies using Drosophila models and patient-derived stem cell models. We have discovered 5 new Mendelian mitochondrial diseases including the Harel-Yoon syndrome that bears my name. We have established disease models in Drosophila and human iPS cells. Hence, the motivated postdoctoral researchers are expected to discover new findings and publish high-impact papers.   Researchers with strong interest in neurological and mitochondrial diseases are welcome to apply. We are focused on identifying and characterizing mechanisms of autoimmune disease onset and flare, including regulatory immune mechanisms. Drs. Joel Guthridge (Guthridge.omrf.org) and Judith James (james.omrf.org) are seeking two Post-Doctoral Fellows with a strong immunology background to be part of the team working to understand mechanisms of autoimmune disease in humans by leveraging the extensive resources and data available from our well characterized clinical cohorts. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team with synergistic skills and experiences and will be given the opportunity to develop projects that complement the overall directions of the group. The team utilizes high throughput bimolecular assays, deep cellular phenotyping, single cell genomic, proteomic, chromatin conformation/epigenetic and computational and bioinformatics analyses through resources in our Human Phenotyping and Translational Informatics Cores which are supported through NIH P30 U54 and U19 mechanisms. We also have access to high performance computational resources both in-house and through cloud-based resources. Trainees have the opportunity to participate in large, national NIH-funded consortia.   This is a mentored position for postdoctoral training. Join our dynamic, well-funded research group in an autoimmune disease center of excellence. We are focused on studying immune mechanisms associated with autoimmunity and translational research questions. Dr. Joel Guthridge and Dr. Judith James are seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow with a strong immunology and/or bioinformatics/data science background to be part of the team working to apply precision medicine and molecular phenotype classification approaches to clinical and translational autoimmune disease research to improve the lives to patients with autoimmune disease. Large datasets for analysis are already available and growing daily.   The successful candidate will help lead efforts to apply computational and new statistical tools to molecular phenotype pipelines for patient characterization and stratification, assist with data analysis, modeling, visualization and interpretation of clinical and experimental data. We have access to an extensive curated electronic clinical research health record and experimental data warehouse already available to be leveraged for these projects. The James/Guthridge labs (james.omrf.org; Guthridge.omrf.org) is a translational immunology laboratory focused on understanding the pathogenesis, prediction, prevention and precision treatment of immune-mediated diseases to improve patients’ lives. We have large, complex experimental datasets partnered with detailed clinical data to help better understand disease and improve treatments. We are looking for a Biostatistician or experienced Data Analyst to join our team to help analyze current and emerging data. This person will perform biostatistic analyses of clinical trial and associated experimental data. Develops data analysis plans, including power calculations. Performs a wide variety of analyses, including but not limited to parametric and non-parametric statistics. Evaluates the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data and to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, accuracy, reliability and usability of data. Reports results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables. Conveys results for presentations to non-statistical audiences. Analyzes and interprets statistical data and prepares conclusions. Identifies relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research. Assists scientists in designing experiments to facilitate correct analysis of data. Plans data collection methods for specific projects and determines the types and sizes of sample groups to be used. Queries databases and manages datasets.
